Jeetendra Kapoor, Chairman
Jeetendra Kapoor a legend of Indian Cinema and has starred in more than 200 films in his 45-year film career. He has won a number of awards including the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award, the Legends of Cinema Award and the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award. His extensive relationships in the Indian entertainment industry prove to be extremely beneficial for the Company and he continues to open new frontiers for the Company.

Shobha Kapoor, Managing Director
Shobha Kapoor has been extremely instrumental in transforming the Company from its small beginnings in 1994 to India’s largest TV content company. Since inception, Mrs. Kapoor has been hands on in the Company’s operational management and efficiency and in controlling ‘on set’ activity. Her stellar work in building the Balaji brand made her win several awards including CEO of the Year (Indian Telly Awards), Businesswoman of the Year (The Economic Times) and numerous Best Producer awards for their TV shows.

Ekta Kapoor, Joint Managing Director
Ekta Kapoor is credited with revamping India’s television landscape. She pioneered an entire genre of television content, heralding India’s satellite television boom. Balaji’s shows have been and continue to be channel drivers for most general entertainment broadcasters. As the creative force behind the Company’s success, she believes in a hands-on approach in day-to-day creative direction for all our content, routinely putting in 16-18 hours each day, she moves ahead with India’s rapidly metamorphosing TV climate.

Under her creative guidance, Balaji has won almost every major TV award. Her stellar work in creating a large content conglomerate at a young age garnered her several distinguished awards, including The Economic Times (Businesswoman of the Year 2002), Ernst & Young (Entrepreneur of the Year 2001) and the American Biographical Institute (Woman of the Year 2001), among others. In 2016, She was placed at the No. 1 position among ’50 Most Influential Women’ in the Indian marketing, advertising and media ecosystems by IMPACT magazine.

Tusshar Kapoor, Director
Tusshar Kapoor is an MBA (Masters in Business Administration) from Michigan University in the United States. His debut movie titled ‘Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai’ shot him to immediate stardom and bagged him prestigious awards such as Filmfare Awards and Zee Cine Awards for being the Best Male Debutant of the Year. His maturity as a seasoned actor has been visible in numerous movies and has been nominated for and recipient of various renowned Bollywood Awards.

Independent Directors

Pradeep Sarda
Pradeep Sarda is the Chairman of Sarda Group of Companies and also the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Ecole Mondiale World School. He possesses rich experience across multiple industry verticals including paper, engineering, construction, academics and real estate

D. G. Rajan is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He was earlier a Senior Partner at Lovelock & Lewes, Chairman of Direct Taxation Committee of Southern India Chamber of Commerce & Industry and a Member of the Board of Governor of Doon School. He was also the President of the Management Consultants Association of India and Chairman of the Southern Region of Indian Paint Association. Presently, he is the Advisor and Management Consultant to many domestic and international groups.

Ashutosh Khanna
Ashutosh works as a Partner with Korn/Ferry and specialises in the Consumer Industry. He has worked in the communication industry earlier and carries with him deep insights of multiple industries. He is a sought after speaker at various industry and HR forums for his views on the future of the industry.

D. K. Vasal
D. K. Vasal has over 30 years of experience in the service and manufacturing industry. He was a Senior Equity Partner in one of the leading law firms of India, Group Legal Counsel of Vedanta Plc, Sterlite Group; Head of Legal (India Region) Standard Chartered Bank, Senior Advisor of Bank of Baroda; Executive Vice President and Head Legal & Compliance of DCB Bank Ltd; Head Legal – a new-generation private sector bank (now HDFC Bank).

V. B. Dalal
V. B. Dalal has over 40 years of experience in Audit and Direct Taxation. He has also handled international assignments in internal and operational audits in U.K, Portugal, Kenya, and Indonesia. He has an academic experience of more than 10 years as part time lecturer in Accountancy, having worked with the Dahanukar College of Commerce and Economics affiliated to University of Mumbai.He is Director on Board and Chairman of Audit Committee of M/s Maharashtra Polybutanes Limited and M/s Oxides and Specialities Limited.He is a Propritor of V.B Dalal and Company, a firm of Chartered Accountants which is established in the July 1969.

Arun  Kumar Purwar
Purwar was the Chairman of State Bank of India the largest Bank in the Country from November, 02 to May, 06. He held several important and critical positions like Managing Director of State Bank of Patiala, Chief Executive Officer of Tokyo covering almost entire range of commercial banking operations in his long and illustrious career at the Bank. He was also associated in setting up of SBI Life.

Purwar also worked as Chairman of Indian Bank Association during 2005-2006. Post his retirement from SBI, he was associated with a leading industry house in setting up the first Health care focused private equity fund as well as highly successful NBFC focused on funding real estate projects as well as Educational Institutions. He is regularly invited to various conferences and workshops and other forums to share his views on Banking and Monetary Policy. He is passionate about creation of Infrastructure viz, Health care, Education and Solar power.

He is currently Chairman of ILFS Renewable Energy, one of the largest renewable energy Co. of the Country. He also works as an Independent Director in leading companies across diverse sectors like Power, Solar Energy, Telecom, Steel, Engineering Consultancy, Pharma and Financial Services. He also acts as an Advisor to Mizuho Securities, Japan.


Anshuman Thakur
Anshuman Thakur is the Senior Vice President - Strategy & Planning at Reliance Industries Ltd. He joined the Reliance Group in 2014 and has ever since been closely involved with the Jio business. He has over 18 years of experience in Corporate Strategy and Investment Banking and has worked across diverse industries. Prior to joining Reliance, he worked with Morgan Stanley as Head of Mergers & Acquisitions for the Indian business. He was a TMT coverage banker at Rothschild prior to his stint at Morgan Stanley. He has also worked with Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young in the area of corporate finance and strategy. He has done his graduate studies in Economics and Master’s in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Jyoti Deshpande
Jyoti Deshpande has over 25 years of experience in media and entertainment across advertising, media consulting, television and film. She has been part of the leadership team of Eros International since 2001 and as Grou,p CEO & MD she has spearheaded Eros’s growth as a global leader in Indian filmed entertainment. From April 2018, Mrs. Deshpande will join Reliance Industries to head the Media and Entertainment business as President of the Chairman’s Office. Reliance Industries Limited is India’s largest private sector company, with a consolidated turnover of INR 330,180 crore (USD 50.9 billion), cash profit of INR 42,800 crore (USD 6.6 billion) with business interests spanning hydrocarbon exploration and production, petroleum refining and marketing, petrochemicals, retail and 4G digital services. In her new role at Reliance Industries, Mrs. Deshpande will lead the company’s initiatives in Media and Entertainment to organically build and grow businesses around the content ecosystem such as Broadcasting, Films, Sports, Music, Digital, Gaming, Animation etc., as well as integrate Reliance Industries’ existing media investments such as Viacom, Balaji Telefilms and Eros with a view to build, scale and consolidate the fragmented $20 billion Indian M&E sector. Mrs. Deshpande was featured in the prestigious Fortune India magazine’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business (2017/2015) which celebrates the journeys and triumphs of women who not only impact their organizations but are also thought leaders in their industry.
